An idea that has lasted for generations
AB Avant was founded in 1945 by the entrepreneur and inventor Åke Hultberg. The company consisted of a mechanical workshop, a plate factory and a sales department for advertising articles. AB Avant employed 35 people.

Towards the end of the 50's, Åke Hultberg wanted to concentrate on advertising. He sold the mechanical workshop and the plate factory to the employed. This resulted in three new companies; Avant Mekaniska Verkstad, I-skylt and AB Avant, which was a downright advertising company.

Åke Hultberg was a far-seeing person. In those days the provision merchant's served people manually. Less time was spent on exposing the merchandise. The idea of self-service came from the USA. This meant that information about prices and goods had to hang close to exposed goods, preferably above, so that the customers had easy access to the message.

For this kind of displaying the decorators used a thin nylon thread that was attached to the plate and the ceiling. A time-consuming job. Times changed and now it was up to the salesmen to do the advertising-jobs in the stores. Suddenly the time factor became important. Everything had to happen fast. Super-fast, like a jet plane, according to Åke Hultberg. Suddenly the registered trademark Jet-Snabb was born.

In the beginning, Jet-Snabb was considered clumsy and expensive. But Åke Hultberg believed in his idea and paid for a universal patent at the end of the 60's. Today more than half of AB Avant's turnover consists of Jet-Snabb.

In 1993 Åke Hultberg diseased. As the oldest son in the family, I became the sole owner of AB Avant. Between 1994 and 1997, sales have more than doubled. This is partly due to the fact that I in 1995 invested in modern and technically perfect manufacturing processes that rationalized the production. Now we export about 80%. Today Jet-Snabb is both better and cheaper than it was during the 60's and 70's.

I feel very privileged having the opportunity to run and work with a well-managed family business with a positive and well motivated staff. We will continue to develop our good business relations with customers and subcontractors.

It gives me great pleasure to present to you our new catalogue with point of sale materials. You will find many new products together with old and well-known. Here you also find everything you need for exposing the material. Humbly we will continue in this century with our customers in focus.

My father – Åke Hultberg – established this company in 1945 and was one of the original pantentholders of our product Jet Snabb (Jet Wire) end of the 60's. With some inprovements this item is today still going strong and we have an increase in the production year after year. Below you will find a faksimil of the foreside of some of our old patents.
